April Birthday Girls

Just wanted to acknowledge 2 of my favorite ladies. First Happy Birthday shout out is for my little sis Jenna who celebrated her 20th b-day while away at college. A few days later we celebrated Mimi's b-day by going to diner at L' Adour, a lovely french bistro. Sophia tired to helped Mimi blow out the candle on her cake but got scared. We thought she could get some practice in before her 1st birthay, oh well. Anyway, I couldn't have wished for a better sister or Mimi! Love you both!

Flying 101

We flew for the first time as a family to New Orleans, home of Brian, Chantal, and future baby cousin! Little Miss Sophia acted like a well-versed traveler, as her first flying experience was a breeze. Sage and I will be adding this to the ever growing list of things we've experienced as new parents.

Anyway, once settled in NOLA we had a good time. The weather was beautiful and we spent much of our time outside, taking several long walks around town looking at the beautiful old homes, to Audubon Park, and around the French Quarter. Our plan to visit the zoo was changed by the only day of iffy weather. We were really excited to take Sophia to the zoo since she was wild over B & C's kitties – hysterically laughing, squealing, and lunging after them. We ending up going to the aquarium instead, but Sophia was much more interested in people watching than the aquatic life. We also celebrated Sage's 34th b-day by hanging out on Magazine Street (a well know main drag) and people watching. Later that evening B & C took us to a nice local restaurant, Matt and Naddie's, to continue the celebration. All the partying caught up with Sophia – she fell asleep halfway through dinner – this was the last hooray before we flew home. Thanks B & C for being such great hosts!

Mom I'm fine, stop worrying!

Fish, what fish? What is going on over there?

We Couldn't Be More Thrilled!

Brian and Chantal came for a short visit so that Brian could be sworn in for the NYS bar. Congrats Bri! I am going to preface my next question with this information-my brother is the endless scholar he has achieved 3 masters and this is the second state where he holds a license to practice law. So we're just wondering what state bar you'll decide to take next? B & C also announced that they are expecting. We are so excited and cannot wait for cousin #2! In Sophia news, she now has six teeth. The 2 top front, the 2 top incisors, and the 2 bottom front. She is making the ma, mu, da, bah, and ga sounds. She clucks her tongue and shakes her head vigorously yes, which is incredibly adorable! Any minute she is going to take off and crawl. In addition to all this she has been munching on some finger foods-avocado, banana, cooked carrots, teething biscuits, and the organic version of cheerios. She also got her first hair cut, given by yours truly. It felt a little sad to cut her locks, but now she is all spiffed up for her flight to NOLA this week.

I did it! I think? At least that's what the paper says.
